IS THERE NO REFUGE IN A HOUSE
THAT'S BEEN INVADED BY A MOUSE?
Itsey, bitsey,
cutsey mouse,
Uninvited to my
house,
With your bright
and beady eyes
Seeking out a
"sweet" surprise,
There is a ransom
on your head
As you nibble on
my bread!
On butter plates,
in donut sacks
You leave your
trail of endless tracks!
You've raided
nightly every trap
And cooly escaped
without a hap!
You've tunneled
through my silks and laces,
Browsed at random
in secret places,
Burrowed through
neat stacks of towels
Leaving trademarks
from busy bowels!
You've nibbled
through my treasured boxes,
Making your
presence so obnoxious!
Your hide-a-way is
a shredded nest
In the pocket of
my velvet vest!
While dozing in my
easy chair
I feel your
calculating stare -
At night, asleep
beneath my sheet
I feel the
scurrying of little feet -
Crafty mousie,
I'll have no pity
When your path
crosses that of kitty
Who travels
softly, far and wide,
Sniffing out
places where you hide!
Though hide and
seek is your favorite game
You shall loose it
all the same!
You best be
cautious little friend,
For I shall catch
you in the end.
I know your taste
for peanut butter
Sets your
villian's heart aflutter -
You'll dine so
well I'll give you reason
To greedily make
that "snap" decision!
